Semp and I always team up, put a ton of work in, and then watch as the league implodes around us.

You'd think we'd learn to stop trying to rebuild, seeing how the seasons never seem to make the postseason, but we're pretty slow...

I prefer to think of us as optimistic. We never plan for the league to fail.

Do Canadian kids not get vaccination? It's mandatory on this side of the border.

A little. They're usually known for letting their prospects develop for a few seasons and then shipping them off quickly after they establish some form of success. They're usually not known for buying expensive major leaguers* they don't need, they're known for selling low on good prospects.

*I know Latos and Gordon aren't "expensive", but they're a helluva lot more expensive than their specs.
I don't buy that Miami sells low. In 2008, more than a few people believed that Cameron Maybin was the best player in that trade.

It'll be interesting to see how Chelsea responds to last week. They're playing Hull City, so it shouldn't be too difficult, but it'll be interesting nonetheless.

Old news, but I forgot to post this one earlier:

Red Sox Acquire Wade Miley:  The Red Sox have officially added lefty Wade Miley in a trade with the Diamondbacks. Right-handers Rubby De La Rosa and Allen Webster, along with infielder Raymel Flores, make up the return for Arizona.  Over the last three seasons, Miley has posted a 3.74 ERA, 2.66 K/BB rate and 7.1 K/9 while averaging an even 200 innings per year.  He has a 48.6% ground ball rate over his career, which will serve him as well at Fenway Park as it did at Chase Field.  Miley posted a 3.98 FIP, 3.50 xFIP and 3.67 SIERA in 2014, so the advanced metrics suggest that he was somewhat unlucky to produce his 4.34 ERA.  De La Rosa appeared in 30 games for the Sox (18 of them starts) in 2013-14, posting a 4.54 ERA, 2.16 K/BB and 6.4 K/9 in 113 innings.  Webster also struggled at the Major League level (a 6.25 ERA over 89 1/3 innings over the last two seasons) but has a higher prospect pedigree than De La Rosa.
