Non-Sports Discussion / Re: NST Community Thread

No snow here, but that's fine with me because years with October/November snowstorms usually end up warm and relatively snowless. Although, all the teleconnections indicate that this could be another cold, snowy winter which I'm really looking forward to.

Just realized that I'm only going to school once the first 11 days of November. Sweet.

Feedback/Suggestions/Questions / Re: Sports Sub-Forums
« on: October 27, 2014, 01:19:30 pm »
I'm against the idea of sub forums, because a lot of them end up unused. It's much better to keep all baseball posts in one subforum than to constantly move from one sub subforum to another.

I can't say I'm surprised that the new members lead to the downfall of STS, but I never would have thought that VikesRule would have closed the forum - especially without any sort of warning. I don't know what happened with the sim leaguers that made them post **** all over the forum, but that was the nail in the coffin. Sim leagues never work out.

It's a shame that STS had to close suddenly, because it was a great forum. Admittedly, I liked it a lot better from June to mid-July when there was a much smaller member base, but I think the larger forum could have worked out if the staff handled things better. For a while, it worked out just fine - and to be fair, many of the new members were positive assets to the board - but I'm not sure what made things turn for the worse.

Eastern Conference Discussion / Re: Big 3 In Cleveland
« on: October 26, 2014, 08:24:27 pm »
Given Paul George's injury and the uncertainty of Derrick Rose's health, I think the Cavaliers are without question the favorites to win the Eastern Conference this year. That being said, I would not be surprised to see the Cavs get off to a slow start like the 2010-11 Heat, as I think there will need to be an adjustment period for the Big Three to get acclimated to one another.

I see the Cavs as a better version of the 2013-14 Heat, but I'm not sold on their depth beyond the starting five. I don't think the Cavs are good enough to beat the Thunder or the Spurs in the Finals.

I have to finish up Calc and Physics HW. I have a History exam and English presentation to do this week, but I'm not too concerned about either. Also I'm done all my college applications.

@bwburke: Wow, and I thought I was a terrible procrastinator. I'm having a hard enough time writing my 4000 word paper.
